Mattawa

Mattawa is set amidst stunning natural landscapes and is approximately 50 minutes east of North Bay but along the way there is so much to explore including Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park, where lush forests, scenic trails, and pristine lakes offer endless opportunities for hiking, paddling, and wildlife spotting. Lake Temiskaming Tour

The Lake Temiskaming Tour is a unique cross-border tourism initiative between Ontario and Quebec.  Starting and ending in North Bay, visitors can travel in either direction, exploring Marten River, Temagami, Temiskaming Shores, New Liskeard, Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Ville-Marie, Temiscaming and Mattawa.

There are so many beautiful Provincial Parks located within an easy one hour drive from North Bay and a great day trip itinerary including Mattawa River, Samuel de Champlain, Restoule, Mikisew, Marten River and the lesser known Northwestern access points into Algonquin Provincial Park. Slightly further away is the beautiful French River Provincial Park.
