Chief Commanda II
The Chief Commanda II is a 320-passenger, all-aluminum twin-hull vessel that cruises at a speed up to 13 knots or 25 km/h. The ship is equipped with two bars, handicap accessible washrooms, snack bar, and open-air BBQ. Locally referred to as ‘The Chief’ it features three decks. The main and second deck areas are enclosed with outside viewing areas. The top deck is open with seating and standing room, where passengers can enjoy a first-class view of the sun going down over Lake Nipissing creating the perfect opportunity for that instagrammable moment.
During the month of September, ‘The Chief’ run a North Shore cruise on Thursday Sept 26, and Sunday the 29th and a Fall Colours French River Cruise on Sept 22nd at 1 pm.
Outside of those, all of the normal cruising schedules will get close to shore to see the fall colours and the updated timings for after Labour Day weekend are:
- Wednesday 5:30 pm – Callander Bay
- Thursday 1 pm – Manitou Islands
- Friday 5:30pm – Callander Bay
- Saturday 1 pm Manitou, 5:30 pm Callander Bay
- Sunday 1 pm Manitou

Blue Sky Sailing Club
The Blue Sky Sailing Club is a member-based club that owns it’s own sail boats, offers lessons, social sailing events, day trips and rentals. Their fall sailing schedule includes ‘Social Sails’ on Wednesday and Friday nights and racing on Tuesday starting between 5:30 and 6 pm as the sun sets earlier in the fall. Non-members are welcome for $10 per person.

Lake Nipissing Outfitters
Lake Nipissing Outfitters provides four season guided fishing charters or boat tours that can be fully customized to your individual needs. In the fall, they offer guided boating tours to view the magnificent colours on Lake Nipissing. They can accommodate groups from 1 – 9 people and are suitable for young families, couples and groups of friends all looking to have a good time while exploring the great outdoors.
