As the official destination marketing organization for North Bay, Tourism North Bay promotes the city’s tourism assets as a premium four-season destination for sports, leisure, meetings and events. Tourism North Bay’s goal is to attract visitors and encourage a longer stay or repeat visit.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Graphic & Content Coordinator. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Officer, this new position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Creating new and/or updating marketing collateral, graphics, short videos and advertisements
  • Assisting in the creation of social media posts, stories, reels and advertisements
  • Assisting in creating engaging content for our social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Tik Tok
  • Collaborating with the team to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote tourism in North Bay
  • Managing the photo asset inventory and digital asset library
  • Monitoring and reporting on social media partnerships
  • Assisting with website updates, listings and directory maintenance and content creation (writing copy, scheduling and reporting)
  • Supporting the team with media opportunities, event coordination and logistics
  • Sharing ideas for new marketing outreach, social and awareness opportunities
  • Designing new templates, advertisements, presentations, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Graphic Design and/or Marketing
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom and/or Premiere Pro
  • Experience with social media management and content creation
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive and inclusive team environment

The Graphic & Content Coordinator will work independently and as part of a team on activities related to the organization’s marketing, social media and awareness campaigns that support the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.
  • Bilingualism (English/ French) is an asset.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Motivated self-started, team player, enthusiastic with strong time management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills and experience using: Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
  • Proficient in using an Apple iMAC Desktop Computer
  • Solid understanding of digital and social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Tik Tok
  • Ability to work in a team environment, yet also independently while being proactive, and able to handle the challenge of quickly evolving projects and opportunities
  • Effectively able to work under pressure and manage change in fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

This is a full-time, 1 year contract position that will require 35 hours per week. The candidate will be required to work at the Tourism North Bay office in North Bay, Ontario.
